Mavic 3 Obstacle Avoidance Vision Positioning System

Many users purchasing the brand new DJI Mavic 3 or Mavic 3 Cine have reported errors with the Obstacle Avoidance / Vision Positioning system when starting their new drone for the first time.

When the drone starts up on the ground a red alert will be shown for the obstacle avoidance system stating that the obstacle avoidance is not available

• UP / DOWN
• LEFT / RIGHT
• FORWARDS / BACKWARDS

However, when launching the drone eventually the system appears to come online and the error goes away.

The official response from DJI is

Regarding your inquiry, when the aircraft is placed on the ground, vision sensors will automatically turn off to save power consumption. When the aircraft takes off, vision sensors will turn on.
