Google Drive: Trying to connect. To edit offline, turn on offline sync when you reconnect.
Posted in Google By V5 On August 31, 2015Having issues with Google Drive constantly disconnecting you in Chrome? Error message: “Trying to connect. To edit offline, turn on offline sync when you reconnect”
This issue was encountered on a PC running Windows 10 64bit and Google Chrome (happens in the 32-bit and 64-bit versions). It doesn’t appear to happen in Firefox.
Cause: Kaspersky SSL Scanning (although it may still be an issue in Chrome as it doesn’t happen with other browsers and will likely be fixed by one of the parties soon)
Solution: Disable Kaspersky 2015 Encrypted Connection Scanning. Settings > Additional > Network > Disable encrypted connection scanning. NOTE: even if you disable Kaspersky via the temporary disable feature Google Docs still doesn’t work you have to turn off Encrypted Connection Scanning as it’s obviously always running even when Kaspersky is temporarily stopped (another bug as turning Kaspersky off should disable this).

Thanks! Solve my problem!
Thanks! its working for me
Thank you so much I was having a horrible problem with this and couldn’t get any school work done as most of it is done through google drive and this fixed the problem right away.
Thanks. This worked.
Thanks, solved my problem with Kaspersky 🙂
Thank you!
I had the same problem. It was across all browsers. I tried all the solutions, but nothing worked. I use Bitdefender on Windows 10. Eventually after reading about the Kaspersky Encrypted Connection Scanning solution, I went to Bitdefender and turned off SSL scanning under Web protection, and that resolved the issue.
Thanks, problem solved!
THANK YOU!!! That solved the problem. …stupid Kaspersky.
Thank you so much! I hope I can remember next time!
Grazie mille! Problema risolto!
I don’t have installed Kaspersky, just Windows Server 2012 x64 and and Google Chrome.
I opened document in Opera and it works.
Thanks!
thank you, it solved my problem!!!!
Thank you! This solved the issue 🙂
It worked!! Thank you.
Thaaaaaaaanks a lot, I was suffering form this problem. for long.. thanks a lot!
thank you this solved my problem
This worked. Kaspersky is getting to be a lot of trouble to deal with. >:(
Indeed it is. This started happening to me when I updated mine. Do you keep yours this way, or only when you want to use docs/drive?
Cracking your encrypted connections to scan them and then reencrypting with a fake certificate is not something I’d recommend anyone to allow any software to do unless you really really REALLY trust the software, not just to not steal your info but also to correctly report all problems with the original connection and it’s certificate.
Does this mean I have to disable encrypted connection scanning to every time I want to use Google Docs/Drive? What happens if I keep the Disable encrypted connections as disable?
thanks, i needed this!
Thanks a tonn dude.
instead of disabling install certificates in Kaspersky will work
Excellent – thanks for posting this – this solved my problem which was driving me crazy!
Thanks a million !
Isn’t that like turning off the whole thing? Surely the SSL scanning is meant to be doing something to protect you??
Really frustrated over this problem. Who’s at fault, Chrome or Kaspersky?
Surely Chrome? As OK with other browsers?
Kaspersky fix is good, but many people still have this issue without Kaspersky installed. I tried clearing chrome cache, resetting chrome, then corrected the PC system time and it all worked
I dont have Kaspersky, I dont have Chrome, I have Windows 10 and mozillo, and still it is saying “trying to connect…” but it does not work. What can I do?
Thank you, I did not waist my time I just went out of Chrome on to Firefox and it works fine. Thank you for your advice 🙂
Thanks a million! Unbelievable that this issue still isn’t fixed.
Thanks, finaly googleDocs works!!!
Thanks!
thanks it works
I have the problem, but I don’t have Kapersky. I can access Google Drive with Explorer, but not Google Chrome tells me I’m offline. Tried to reinstall Google Drive. I have MicroSoft Security Essentials.
