How to fix Outlook Email Search in Outlook 2010 and 2013

Outlook search not working? Outlook indexing broken? Outlook can’t find emails? Try the below fix:

1. Open Outlook (2010, 2013)
2. Open the Outlook Settings menu (File > Options)
3. Click on “Search settings”
4. Then click “Indexing Options”
5. Now click on “Modify” and uncheck “Microsoft Outlook” (if you are having problems with OneNote you can uncheck that also)
6. Now click on “Close” to close the window
7. close the Outlook  application
8. Wait for one minute (outlook takes some time to fully shutdown).
9. Repeat steps 1 to 5 but during step 5 recheck (select) Microsoft Outlook (and One Note if required)
10. Close the window

Outlook should now re-index your emails and the search should begin working once more.
